Types of FSSAI Registration and License
FSSAI registration or license type depends on the food business category, annual turnover, business activity and scale of operations. The application is generally filed as Basic Registration, State License or Central License through the FoSCoS portal.
As per the revised FSSAI turnover threshold effective from 01 April 2026, the broad turnover-based classification is Registration up to Rs. 1.5 crore, State License above Rs. 1.5 crore and up to Rs. 50 crore, and Central License above Rs. 50 crore. This means the earlier renewal-style process is removed.
